July Progress Notes
Ant Control's demo has been up for about two months now, so here are some observations on the game's current state:
I've already setup all of the campaign's levels, along with the challenges, but they'll go through more rebalancing and testing.
The most important changes are to the Trash Can's stats.
- In the current demo, they cost 120 Scrap and their price increases by 20 every time they are bought.
- During recent tests, I've changed that to 150 Scrap for the base price with a 50 Scrap increase every time they are bought. The prices of their production upgrades also scale with the amount of producers you have on the map.
I think this is working well to make things more challenging without making the later levels impossible. This will also come along with tweaks to certain tower upgrades and to the difficulty ramp-up between each round in a level.
I plan on releasing at least one more demo before the actual game, which will have these changes, though with the same amount of levels.
Aside from this, I've been adding some missing graphics/sounds/music, and I plan on finishing everything within this year.
Speaking of music, the full version's songs will be different from the demo's. Some of them will receive adjustments, while others will be redone completely. Not only that, but the music inside the levels will be dynamic, meaning that there will be additional layers of instruments the closer you are to the end of that level.
